Basil is a dog owned by our some friends in our neighborhood. He's a black lab about the same size as Vinny and they often played together in the field and in the tennis courts.
Vinny and Basil got along great, we sometimes thought they were best friends. One day, Basil and Vinny played together in our backyard. We had a small garden pond in the making and it was filled with water. Vinny and Basil jumped into the water and started drinking it. It was a very funny sight.
After about a year, our family lost touch with their family resulting in Vinny not seeing Basil very much anymore. So whenever we walk by Basil's house, Vinny can smell Basil and thinks, "I wonder what happened to him..."
